The thing that has made Baldur's Gate 3 so successful is that it not only gives you a ton of different paths to choose, but it also makes these options leave a big impact on your playthrough.

Some of them can even haunt hours later, as is the case with the Absolute's scrying eyes.

The scrying eyes are magical constructs that scour the different hideouts of the Absolute's cultists, reporting on everything that goes on there in real time.

It's easy to ignore them, since they're small and don't have any means of attacking you, but if you choose to hinder the cult in any way as they watch, the consequences of your actions will stick around far longer than you'd think.

The eyes don't only alert nearby guards when they spot you committing a crime. They will also report you to the leaders of the Absolute, and despite appearing only in Acts 1 and 2, being noticed by them will haunt you all the way to Act 3.

If at least one scrying eye caught you, in Act 3 all Steel Watchers will know of your crimes and attack on sight.

The only way to stop their attacks is to ally yourself with Gortash, so if you don't want to do that, be sure to stay away from the eyes.
