8. More Gears & Forza
Why we want it: Forza Horizon 5 hitting PS5 was a quiet revolution. It climbed the charts instantly, proving there's a huge appetite for Xbox’s premier racing series beyond its home turf. More entries, wherever Xbox is reaching into the backlogs for a remaster (Horizon 4, please), or aligning new installments to release in tandem, seem like no-brainers.
Then there's Gears of War - with Gears: Reloaded confirmed for PlayStation, it's a seismic moment. But for series veterans, the real magic of the series is in Gears 2 and 3, both ripe for a next-gen upgrade, that even Xbox gamers have been waiting a whole console generation for, and would prime Sony's gamer stable for the upcoming Gears: E-Day release.
How likely is it? Pretty likely, in fact, Forza is a surething, its success speaks for itself. Gears is trickier, if Reloaded underperforms, Microsoft may hesitate, with it already shuffling its feet on refreshing the rest of the 360 trilogy. But if it lands strongly, expect the rest of the collection to follow.
These franchises crossing over are a clear sign that Xbox is comfortable with becoming a third-party powerhouse, its two of the definitive exclusive pillars, available on its rival console.
