100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil
60. Ashley The Asskicker
One of the many things RE4 introduced into the series was melee attacks beyond just the swipe of a knife. Contextual button pushes allow Leon to roundhouse kick stunned enemies and, most famously, perform a suplex, crushing Ganado skulls into the ground.
But he's not the only one who can do this. Perhaps seeing this occur inspired Ashley Graham who, whilst usually non-combative, can perform this move under certain conditions.
During the short section where players take control of her, if Ashley times opening a door to push into an enemy, they'll be stunned and drop to their knees. In the GameCube version of the game exclusively, this gives players the prompt to perform a suplex and sure enough Ashely impresses with her strength as she lifts the cultist overhead.
This was very clearly an oversight based on the fact the developer didn't forsee players finding a way to stun enemies with the unequipped Ashley and, unsurprisingly, was removed in all later releases. Shame.
