100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil
59. Double Duty
For whatever reason, Resident Evil Village's voice cast is largely made up of returning actors from RE7 and RE3 Remake.
Marguerite Baker, Lucas Baker and Eveline share voice actors with village lead Luiza, fishman Moreau and scary doll Angie respectively. Jill Valentine's Nicole Tompkins took on the role of one of the Dimitrescu daughters and one of the villagers, Neil Newbon, who had played Nicolai, famously got into the boots of Heisenberg; and Carlos actor Jeff Schine took up the mantle of Chris Redfield.
That said, it was also very common for actors to pull double duty across the early games, when considerations for voice acting were more minor compared to today. In Resident Evil 2, Gary Krawford provides both the panic of gunshop owner Kendo and also the snarling villainy of Chief Irons; and Rod Wilson portrays wounded cop Marvin Branagh and stubborn journalist Ben Bertolucci (it's also suspected he provides the opening monologue for the game).
Another particularly great example of this is in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis where the late, great Tony Rosato gave us the iconic roar of "S.T.A.R.S." for Nemesis... whilst also wetting the pants of his cheap suit as the novelist Dario Rosso who locks himself in a storage container at the start of the game.
