11 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games You Won't Believe Got Cancelled
8. Agent

Rockstar are easily one of the finest developers we have working in the industry today, yet one genre they're yet to dip their toes into is stealth, and in addition that an older war-torn environment to sneak around in.
The thing with Agent is that although only one batch of screens were ever revealed, nothing about the game in-motion has ever been seen, and since the initial 2007 reveal we've had GTA's IV, V and Red Dead Redemption all release as critically-acclaimed, nigh-faultless masterpieces - so we know Rockstar have the heft to deliver on multiple projects at once.

Precious little is known even today about the title - such is Rockstar's mastery of keeping tight-lipped on their projects until they have something substantial to show - but a choice tidbit from the initial press release notes gameplay would take us "on a paranoid journey into the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations during the height of the Cold War at the end of the 1970s." It's supremely delicious stuff, and would've easily been of the biggest tonal-change-ups since the high school-fun of Bully.
The latest tidbit to the game actually being in development is last year Take Two renewed the trademarks on the name, but with most of 2014's biggest press conferences out the way and not one jot from Rockstar, it appears this one might have bit the bullet for good.
