11 Powerful Video Game Opening Sequences That Gave You Chills
4. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Tarantino and Christopher Nolan may be the masters of manipulating the flow of time on film, but for gaming it's Naughty Dog who take the cake with the second Uncharted. Opening with a perspective-shifting shot that makes you think Nate is sitting relatively comfortably in a train car, everything changes - as does his demeanour when a fresh blood-spilling wound is found - as he's actually dangling off a cliff.
Such a powerful and immediately memorable intro is indicative of Naughty Dog's intent for this sequel overall. They knew the first Uncharted should have been received and sold better, and with new writing combo Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley on script duties, this was the perfect way to put a character we already knew and loved in danger, before spooling out the whys and wherefores as to how he ended up in such a position.
Answers in the comments on whether Uncharted 2 or 3 is truly the greatest, but I'm staking my claim on this second instalment, especially when it started with such a bang.
