12 Announced Video Games That Are Never Coming Out
5. Beneath A Steel Sky 2
First Announced: Revolution Software, the developers of the original 1994 cyberpunk point-and-click classic, stated on 6 September 2012 that the sequel would get made if their Kickstarter for Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse hit $1 million. Though it failed to meet this target, Beneath A Steel Sky 2 was nevertheless given the greenlight shortly thereafter (24 September 2012).
Eventually, though, Revolution backpedalled and stated that the game wouldn't be their next production, and though initial reports stated the game was in active development, by early 2014 this was confirmed not to be the case, with Broken Sword reportedly taking up too many resources.
In 2016 designer Charles Cecil said the game was "still very much at an early stage", and in an e-mail correspondence with a fan last November, Revolution gave another vague non-response.
It'd be super neat to see the game released one day, but with the original being almost 25 years old and a veritable cult endeavour, it's hard to see Revolution ever rustling up the moolah and interest to get it done right.
