12 Biggest Missed Opportunities In Gaming History
6. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5
You thought Pokémon GO encouraged us to leave the house? Tony Hawk's had millions of gamers taking up skateboarding from scratch, watching the X-Games, looking into Tony Hawk's career and knowing the difference between a kickflip and a Benihana.
Naturally, with great sales power comes a great many sequels, and Mr. Hawk would lend his name to any number of spin-offs, ranging from plastic skateboard accessories to Jackass stunt-infused prank-a-thons. THPS 5 immediately felt dated, and releasing in the same year as Metal Gear Solid V and The Witcher 3 didn't help matters. Adding a new 'instant-drop' button that also doubled as your grind was pure insanity, leaving Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 do to about as much for your childhood as the new Ghostbusters reboot.
