Alright, so this is more wishful thinking than anything, but maybe, just maybe, 2K Games and Yuke's might actually release a WWE game this year that isn't a mediocre pile of janky slop.

The odds aren't in their favour, sure, but something's got to give eventually, right? Players have been complaining for years that 2K's treatment of the franchise has been a total mess, with out-of-date graphics and an abundance of glitches hampering the "realism" of the experience.

What the series really needs is a year off where 2K can take a step back and fully re-evaluate, but that's probably not going to happen.

Even so, with increasing pressure on 2K from fans - and perhaps, eventually, from WWE themselves - the publisher might start allocating more resources this year to a franchise that squanders its potential year-in and year-out.

Again, wishful thinking, but imagine how amazing it'd be to see a WWE 2K game score 80+ on Metacritic.
