12 Worst Superhero Video Games Of All Time

8. Watchmen: The End Is Nigh

Watchmen isn't your typical superhero story. It's a commentary on superheroes in general - a mature take on the genre that pushes boundaries and expanded on what a comic story could actually be.

Surely a tie-in video game should also push the envelope a bit, right? It should be a game that's memorable and makes the most of Watchmen's cast of weird and wonderful characters, yeah? Well, in the case of Watchmen: The End is Nigh, that's a categorical nope.

This is a Watchmen game in only that the characters from the franchise appear in it, and the name is slapped on the box. It's basically just a very shallow beat-em-up - inexplicably, released in two parts - which is set ten years before the original comic story. You play as either Rorschach or Nite Owl, making your way through scores of enemies with atrocious AI, smashing their faces in again and again and again. That's pretty much it.

Despite this, the game itself is presented well, with some excellent cinematics and decent character models. Unfortunately it's all a case of style with no substance, as the game attached to the visual spectacle is definitely not worth a glance, never mind an extended watch.
