13 Crucial Questions For 2017's Biggest Video Games

4. Does It Make Any Unnecessary Changes? - System Shock

System Shock Reboot
Night Dive Studios

The Question: With 1994's classic action RPG getting a much-anticipated remake, will Night Dive Studios manage to cling to what made it so great, or will they inundate it with needless changes in an attempt to make the game feel more contemporary?

The Likely Answer: From what's been shown off so far, this visually stunning remake actually looks incredibly faithful to the original for the most part.

In the pre-alpha demo that takes place during the first level, item locations and enemy quantity have been altered from the 1994 game, while voice acting means that the large UI from the original game, complete with text across the bottom of the screen, is no longer necessary.

On the whole, though, the demo provides plenty of hope that Night Dive's enhancements are mostly stylistic while keeping the original's soul firmly in tact.
