A major talking point over recent months has been the prospect of Rocket League cross-console play between the PS4 and Xbox One, considering that both individual platforms can already play with PC gamers.

Just recently, developers Psyonix confirmed that they have the infrastructure set up and have played PS4 vs Xbox One internally, but need Sony's sign-off to enable the option for players in-game.

Microsoft are reportedly on-board with the move, and it just requires Sony to carry out their various administrative checks before giving the go-ahead. Still, Sony are undeniably dragging their feet, and considering that Psyonix claim the system could be running within hours of the go-ahead, it's infuriating that they won't just say yes.

Sony, you're already destroying the Xbox One in sales: you've pretty much won the generation outright, so keep pleasing your fans and give us this ASAP.
