14 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games Still Coming Before Christmas 2016
11. Mafia 3

Despite Mafia 3 releasing at the beginning of October, 2K are still playing their cards very close to their chest. Even at Gamescom, despite being told we could go hands-on with a build of the game, we had to settle for watching a dev playing a mission - still, that's given the game an even bigger sense of allure, as everything shown so far looks confidently spectacular.
Taking an old-school GTA approach with an era-appropriate soundtrack and focus on protagonist-fuelled, escapist thrills, main-man Lincoln Clay is talked about in retrospect. See, the game's story is a documentary, discussing just how much carnage Clay caused to the Italian mob in the fictional recreation of New Orleans, New Bordeaux.
That affords 2K freedom to be even more liberal with how off-the-handle and embellished the idea of one man tearing through a city could be, and from the OTT violence to the bass-pounding machine gun fire that clattered out the speakers during our demo, Mafia 3 has its eyes set squarely on usurping GTA as king of the open world.
