15 'Always Online' Games That You Can't Play Anymore

1vs 100. My beloved. Not a day goes by that I don't think back fondly on those nights waiting in a lobby with my friends, hoping that maybe this time I could be in the 100 or even be the 1. If you played this back on the Xbox 360, you understand. 1 vs 100 was a free-to-play trivia game for Xbox Live Gold members. It ran like an actual TV show, with set times and TV presenter James Court hosting the game show in the UK.

But this wasn't just any trivia game you'd play with a few mates at a party. There were real stakes on the line. If you were in the Mob or chosen as the 1, you would be in the chance of winning up to 10,000 Microsoft Points (remember those?) credited to your account.

1 vs 100 was proven to be hugely popular; it was downloaded over 2.5 million times and ran for 2 seasons from 2009 to 2010. Unfortunately, it was never officially revealed why the game show got axed, but many speculated that it was due to the high running costs. There have been talks and rumours of a revival, and if Asha Sharma is at all interested in winning me back to Xbox, well, there's a golden ticket right there waiting.

Hey, I’m Matt. I work full-time at WhatCulture's neighbours, MyVoucherCodes. I first joined MyVoucherCodes as a Deals Expert, scouring the internet, leaving no stone unturned in finding the best discount codes, sales and offers for our customers. Moving into my first home during the worst possible time (during lockdown), I understand the necessity of saving money when the purse strings are tight. Outside of saving money, I’m into video games, movies, books and music. I host and edit a video game podcast called The Retry Hard Podcast, where my friend and I go through news, reviews and video games in general. I love movies and watching how they’re made, and I’ve worked as a set decorator for a few months on His Dark Materials season 3, which gave me a massive insight into how it all comes together. I also put out music as a solo artist named Matt Kiano, where I won the award for Best Male Artist of 2025 for Radio Wigwam and have been nomiated for Best Live Act at the 2026 Radio Wigwam Awards.
