10. Fighting For Team Mayo - Splatoon 2

Still the subject of some online debates as to the potential of Nintendo's own tallies not being accurate, Splatoon 2's genius way of splitting its userbase into two opposing factions is to ask the most childish and fun questions possible.

We had "cake or ice cream" during the beta, and more recently, mayo vs. ketchup. Only, things took on a David vs. Goliath bent when the vast majority of the player base opted for ketchup, leaving us mayo'ers to fend for ourselves. Just like in real life!

It was one hell of an uphill battle, but - and this only works if Nintendo's servers were correct after all - we won!

Regardless of the outcome, seeing scores of Switch owners facing off over their favourite condiments is a far cry from the limited reach of the original, being it was shackled to the disastrous Wii U. And when a game as fun as Splatoon is being embraced by the masses, it can only be a good thing.
