That's right, the buggers armed with chainsaws that want quicker access to your jugular.
Up until now, we'd dealt with all sorts of weird and wonderful monsters, but Spanish peasants were a new one. On the grand scheme of things, they weren't that bad (well, in small doses).
Until you hear the revving...
The problem with that is, unless you had an amazing surround sound setup, you couldn't tell which direction the potato sack bastard was coming from. That is, until you suddenly find your head being separated from your shoulders.
It shouldn't have been that shocking a death... and yet, it was. It was unexpected that early on in the game, which I don't think many had prepared themselves for.
It gets even worse further on, when you have to take on multiple chainsaw wielding enemies at once. But for that initial shock of watching Leon having his top lopped off, it was a shockingly great moment.
