7. Fighting Your First Anjanath - Monster Hunter: World
Oh man, this thing. Monster Hunter fans have always prided themselves on taking down the most fearsome quarry of any game, but damn, the Anjanath is one unrelenting, furious beast.
Essentially the first major roadblock in the game, tackling an Anjanath comes with facing devastatingly powerful attacks that decimate your life bar in seconds. Atop this, the beast will mutate after taking certain amounts of damage, revealing some terrifying wings and a jutting forehead bone ridge - changing its patterns and denoting that even faster, more effective and wider attacks are coming your way.
The only counter depending on your loadout is to hang back, try to find cover and essentially wait until the beast has calmed - then you can leap back in and continue pummelling away. Get that timing wrong though - get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time or get too greedy when the Anjanath is enraged - and you're down for the count.
