15 Most Criminally Underrated Video Games Of 2016 (So Far)
11. Fire Emblem Fates

Thankfully for old-school Final Fantasy fans, turn-based battling has made something of a return in 2016. Fire Emblem Fates may be the latest entry in the franchise's long line of titles, but it comes with an incredibly enjoyable story and one hell of a difficulty curve, just in case you fancied a challenge.
Playing as a memory-wiped Prince or Princess, you're torn between two warring factions that both insist you're their rightful heir. The game actually handles this with permadeath on the higher difficulties, meaning allegiances forged and friends met along the way can be lost forever if a battle goes sour.
Think of a tone that mixes Saturday morning cartoon fight scenes with soap opera "It was me all along!" betrayals - that's Fire Emblem. It's absolutely loveableonce you get the hang of how best to plan attacks and sequences, and you'll then go from awesome story sequence to intense battles and back again for hours.
