Microsoft's infamous 'trailer that launched a thousand memes' may not have engendered the reaction Microsoft were hoping for, but you can't argue it got people talking!

In all seriousness, Halo: Infinite is already of of 2021's most fascinating games. Microsoft's surprisingly low-fidelity gameplay presentation, and subsequent reports of the game's apparently torturous development, make Master Chief's next outing look like it could be one of the year's biggest car crashes.

Halo may not have the clout it once did, its thunder having been stolen by Call of Duty and the explosion of the battle royale genre, but it's still Microsoft's biggest games franchise.

Simply put, Microsoft need this to be a hit to cement the Series X as a viable contender to the PS5.

Halo: Infinite will be either a glorious triumph or a total disaster, but either way its release will be one of the biggest moments of the year.
