10. Solid Snake's Neck Snap - Metal Gear Solid
"Huh, huh, huh, huh-huh-huh-huh-GWARK" Sound familiar? It should, for 'tis the sound of Solid Snake making his mark on the industry. Yes, back in the 90s hardly anyone had really considered the idea of stealth being a viable way to play, and despite their being two former Metal Gear games that were making waves with critics and certain subsets of fans, it was Hideo Kojima's first PlayStation outing that turned out to be a bonafide masterpiece. All that said though - did you ever notice how the neck-snap animation always ended with the guard in question glitching out and falling down just out of your grasp? That sort of thing just wouldn't fly without an army of keyboard warriors mounting up these days, but didn't make it any less badass back in the day.
