6. God of War III
Brutal, bloody and endlessly satisfying, God of War III is the best title in the series and was a technical marvel that showed off what the Playstation 3 could actually do. Beginning climbing up the slopes of Mount Olympus and throwing you straight into a fight against the gods themselves, God of War III was filled with memorable set pieces, excruciatingly painful-looking combat and constantly had you in awe. Admittedly Kratos does have the personality of a very angry sponge, but his quest for redemption, although not best in terms of story, was too full of awesome for us not to really care. There's not many games let you wield the power of the gods themselves, and Kratos doesn't care who gets in his way in order to achieve his goals. Who cares if the gods being alive keeps all the humans alive? Who need those guys anyway? Oh yeah, that's us. Damn.
