20 Awful Characters In Amazing Games

1. Eredin Breaac Glas (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is, simply put, a damn near perfect game. Sure, the gameplay can be awfully janky at times, but the overall story is so rich, compelling, and epic that it's easy to overlook those shortcomings. A major part of what makes it such a killer story is the characters, delivering a nuanced ensemble of heroes to root for, and an assortment of complicated villains to root against.

Unfortunately, the main baddie is an absolute dud.

Eredin, the game's central antagonist, should feel terrifying. He's the head of the dreaded Wild Hunt, a supernatural cavalry of elves, and has immense power. Despite this, his lack of screen time robs the player of any chance to get to know him. He appears, looks menacing, and then goes away again, offering no depth - just a spooky guy in skeleton armour.

Of course, it would be remiss not to mention his lacklustre final boss fight, which concludes the game with a whimper. For a title as well-written as this, you'd think the villain would have some semblance of character. Not even the new remastered graphics will make him interesting.
