20 Basic Video Game Skills That Are Secretly Broken

13. Luck - Fallout

Out of all the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes in the Fallout series, Luck seems to be the most lackluster. Unless you're playing New Vegas, where luck lets you clean out the bank accounts of every casino on the Strip, all the attribute does is improve your V.A.T.S. accuracy a little and give you more opportunities for critical strikes.

In the first Fallout game, it might seem smarter to opt for other attributes that are much more useful in and out of combat and can even do what Luck does.

However, once you reach level 18 with a high Luck score, you'll be glad you stuck with it.

At level 18, if you have 8 points in Perception and Agility, you can buy the Sniper perk, which increases your chance to get a critical hit with ranged weapons by your Luck score times ten, meaning that a character with maxed-out Luck will be able to score critical hits with every single attack they make.

The best thing about it, however, is that even with ordinary levels of luck, the perk can drastically improve your performance in battle, since it scales really well with other ranged perks.

You just have to not neglect your Luck completely.
