13. The Introduction Of Ocelot - MGS3
In both MGS and MGS2, Revolver Ocelot is a wily veteran with a grizzled outlook. He has a knack for the theatrical but always commits to disastrous deeds in a level-headed way. When players are introduced to the young Ocelot in the series’ third instalment, it shows just how much he soured in his old age.
Ocelot slowly enters the stand-off between Snake, Sokolov and KBG Soldiers, spinning his gun on his finger. His name and unit are revealed by the KGB, and Ocelot quickly kills all six of them. Ocelot tries to kill Snake in a flashy way, but his gun jams and he is knocked out by the protagonist.
Snake chastises Ocelot for being too brash and ostentatious. Snake spares the young upstart and leaves him with some advice on his choice of weaponry. The seeds of the long rivalry/comradeship between the two are sewn here, and ultimately affects the events of every game after this point.
