20 Best Moments From E3 2014

14. Battlefield Hardline Gameplay & Beta Insta-Launched

Many of us couldn't help but groan when a new Battlefield game was announced all while the previous game, Battlefield 4, was still crippled by server and "netcode" problems, but it was hard not to be enchanted by the new E3 footage for the cops-and-robbers spin-off, Hardline. The clip was taken from a 32-player Heist match, in which a gang of robbers must try to steal and secure some loot, and the cops must simply try to apprehend or otherwise stop all the suspects. Simply, this mode looks freaking insane, with robbers driving around on motorbikes and cars while the cops give chase in helicopters and armoured vehicles. The stand-out moment (pictured above) occurred when a team of robbers came across a huge police blockade, and another robber then drove a giant, flammable lorry into the blockade, blowing it (and himself) to smithereens. We also saw Battlefield's famous Levolution mechanic come into play, as a crane was knocked down into several buildings. As if this wasn't enough, it was then announced that the beta launch was good to go immediately for PS4 and PC players, resulting in the Origin servers being absolutely pummeled into Oblivion. Battlefield Hardline is out October 21st.
