15. Super Smash Bros. Wii U Allows Players To Import Miis

Super Smash Bros. is one of the most anticipated games for the Wii U, and along with AAA titles such as Mario Kart 8 and the new Zelda game, just might be enough to turn around the struggling console's fortunes. Nintendo opened their Digital Event with the revelation that the new Smash Bros. will allow players to import their own Mii creations into the game, essentially opening the game up and giving it a far more personal touch. Once a Mii is imported into the game, players must choose between three types of fighter: a brawler, a swordfighter or a gunner, and as an added treat, each Mii has the ability to perform up to 36 special moves (which is 9-fold that of any regular fighter). The lower-res Miis may clash a little stylistically with the higher-fidelity character models we saw during the gameplay footage, but the ability to essentially create any human being we want (be it ourselves, or Michael Jackson, or Abraham freaking Lincoln!) and throw them into the game certainly adds a new dynamic to an already ridiculously addictive video game series. As for a release date? Nintendo said nothing beyond "holiday 2015", sadly.
