One of the E3 reveals that had been rumoured over the weekend was Crackdown 3, thought that wasn't quite what we got. Despite the 3-minute trailer being given practically no additional context, it appears that the franchise (which enjoyed a great first game and a hugely disappointing sequel) is being rebooted, and on the strength of this barmy trailer, it looks as though the series is back to its insane, wildly over-the-top best. The set-piece of the trailer shows an Agent taking down a crime lord by detonating the foundations of a building, before another Agent drives an explosive-filled tanker into the side of the building while it topples. An Agent then snipes the explosives on the outside of the tanker, exploding the top of the building, and catapulting it into the adjacent building, killing the gangster. We pan out to the destroyed cityscape, and the game's title is finally revealed to us. While this trailer gives us absolutely no idea of what the gameplay will look like, it's fair to say that Crackdown looks to be back to its destructive best. No word on a release date, though, sadly.
