20 Best NES Games Of All Time
5. Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is one of the hardest games on the NES but unlike many other titles on the system it doesn't feel hard because it's poorly made, but because Castlevania III is a game that wants you to take your time.
Even with the variety of options given to you, taking your time is the most important factor in your success.
There are four different controllable characters, each of which plays completely different from one another. There's the protagonist Trevor Belmont who wields the trusty Vampire Killer whip and has the ability to pick up various monster-slaying tools. Then there's Sypha Belnades who can use magic, Grant Danasty who is the most agile of the four yet is also quite weak, and finally, there's Alucard who has a variety of vampire powers.
Taking your time and utilising the various characters and their sub-weapons is vital to beating this incredibly difficult game.
Castlevania III is just like the original game but better in every way. It's no wonder that this was the game that was chosen to be adapted into a Netflix series.
