12. Pikmin 4
The agonising decade-long wait for Pikmin 4 was thankfully worth it in the end, retaining the series' delightfully oddball style and tone while delivering more of the snappy, satisfying real-time strategy the franchise has built its brand on.
Sure, it might not be everyone's favourite Pikmin game and there are fair arguments to be made that it's a little too easy for its own good, but there's something to be said for a sequel that doesn't tinker too much with a winning gameplay loop.
There are some solid value add-ins here, though, such as the unerringly cute canine-like alien creature Oatchi and the addictive tower defense-styled Night Expedition missions.
All in all, Pikmin 4 is a fun, chill time that's probably not going to tax you much, but for the most part that's a good thing. All the same, it's an extremely polished and feature-rich feast of a game even if, again, it might not be the consensus fave.
