4. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Uncharted 4 is the culmination of an action-adventure series which has become increasingly ambitious and bombastic with each passing installment.
Though it's probably fair to call the game a tad overstuffed, that does little to diminish its power as an almost impossibly slick, beautifully cinematic riff on Indiana Jones, led of course by everyone's favourite charming mass murderer, Nathan Drake.
As a conclusion to Nate's story, Uncharted 4 sensibly dials back the tiresome shootouts and focuses instead of exploration - with the presence of newly expansive hub-style locales - and a more personal, family-centric plot.
As a feat of sheer engineering, it is an experience virtually unparalleled in its genre, and is sure to please just about anyone craving a breezy slice of overblown mayhem.
