And you thought Metal Gear 4's portrayal of Raiden was over the top. MG Revengeance went a few steps further, opening the game with a fight against Metal Gear RAY. Y'know, the thing that took down an oil tanker at the beginning of MGS 2? Here, Raiden literally picks it up and throws it across a city.

In many ways, MGR is a response to Metal Gear's ludicrous cutscenes and character moments, but in a way that's entirely celebratory. Therefore, because Raiden was already this powered-up cyborg chap... thing, Platinum made him a superhero. You'll slice enemies into literally hundreds of pieces, rip the hearts from your enemies and absorb their power, even deflect bullets while slow-mo sliding through crowds, slicing off limbs as you go.
