For many, Mario Maker will be all their dreams come true - a way to reach inside the screen and remix the world's most famous plumber into all sorts of different machinations, the end result being an infinite supply of custom creations that'll see them through for the rest of their life. In that same vein though, that's precisely why you can't recommend it to everyone. Instead, it appeals very directly to gamers who'll spend hours in something like Little Big Planet, Minecraft or the settlement function of Fallout 4. If you've got the inkling to spend hours refining and iterating on your own creations just to see how the global populace interacts with them, Mario Maker gives you all the tools to do so in abundance. Thankfully, everything is intuitive and helpful in practice too. The menus and general use of the stylus feel second nature almost right away, and with that signature level of polish only Nintendo can lacquer on so thick, it's a total fan-servicing powerhouse.
