20 Classic Nintendo Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels

5. Ice Hockey

With the overall lack of sports games (that don't include Mario and aren't Wii Sports) on Nintendo platforms as of late, it would be nice to see some of them return. 1080° Snowboarding hasn't been seen since 1080° Avalanche on the GameCube, Nintendo Pennant Chase was never released, and so on. But for this entry, we're reaching way back, all the way to Ice Hockey for the NES. Players choose among teams representing different countries from around the world, and fill them out with players sporting one of three body types, including the slender players who do well in face-offs, the larger, burly players who sport lots of power and are good for checking, and the in-between guys who are the average of the two. Personally, we would love to see Next Level Games take this one on, as they've already handled the somewhat-similar Mario Strikers games (well, inasmuch as soccer and hockey are similar, anyway). Better still would be the ability to include Miis as your players, allowing you to recreate favorite players, use your friends, or just get crazy: Iron Man as the goalie, anyone? Throw in some online features, and you have an update/sequel worth checking out.
