11. Cheating - Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Kazooie features a secret cheat room inside the Treasure Trove Cove map where the player can input codes to gain unfair advantages, but it’s also very clear about you not wanting to use it.
The first time you enter a cheat, the game will inform you that you will not be allowed to save with cheats enabled. The second time you do it, Bottles the mole will come in to warn you that if you continue and add a third cheat, the game will punish you by erasing your save file.
This seems like a pretty fair warning, considering what’s at stake here, and yet despite this, some players may still feel tempted to ignore the message and add more cheats anyway.
And that's how they get the taste of Grunty’s Code Vengeance.
As soon as you enter the third cheat, the evil witch Gruntilda will suddenly pop up on your screen, punishing you for ignoring Bottles' warning by irreversibly erasing your save.
If you’re far enough in the game, Grunty's curse can really sting, but at the same time, you can’t say they didn’t warn you.
