In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, players can unlock a slew of Achievements by completing levels in each game within a time limit. Interestingly, Halo 2 (and only Halo 2) has an exploit called Super Bounce that turns many missions into a cake-walk. This is reassuring, since each level needs to be beaten within a certain time for the Going Nowhere Fast Achievement.

Basically, the Super Bounce occurs when the game tries to correct players who are crouched or partially intersected into certain pieces of map geometry. At certain slopes or corners, the collision system overcompensates and ejects players with an enormous burst of velocity, usually straight upward.

That sudden height lets the players land on rooftops, cliffs, or out-of-bounds areas that normally require long fights or vehicle sections to reach. From there, they can bypass enemy waves, cross huge portions of the map in seconds, or drop near the mission’s end triggers, dramatically cutting completion times. Depending on the level and where players land, they can turn a long and dangerous mission into a short jog to the finish.
