20 Greatest Video Games You've Never Played

8. Startopia

Year: 2001 Platform: Microsoft Windows Startopia is gaming heaven for fans of comedic sci-fi such as Red Dwarf or The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A light-hearted title by Mucky Foot Productions, Startopia puts the player in control of development over a series of space stations. There's not much out there to compare Startopia with, although it most closely resembles games like Hospital Tycoon and Dungeon Keeper. Like those games, it's still hugely playable, and looks great on PC even today (as long as you make use of the widescreen mod). Startopia is surprisingly deep considering its tongue-in-cheek nature, requiring the player to balance their time between macro and micro-management or risk having their space station abandoned. A timeless gem, Startopia is the sort of strange, brave, brilliant title that you just never see released outside of indie gaming these days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbYKKzmuVRU
