It has been many years now since Fortnite stole the crown and knocked World of Warcraft from its seemingly unbreachable position as the most successful and popular massive multiplayer online game of all time. And yet, the now three decades old Warcraft franchise is still massive by anyone’s measure.

It made sense, then, to resurrect one of the series beloved earlier titles for this generation. Enter Warcraft III: Reforged, a game that promised to bring together Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion The Frozen Throne in an all-new package. New graphics, remodelled characters, bringing gameplay into the modern era and carefully restoring a classic.

Somehow though, developer Blizzard absolutely gubbed it. Despite several delays supposedly for fine-tuning, the game released with cutscenes and other features seen in marketing materials nowhere to be found. The game was buggy as all heck, crashed often and had pared down features from the 2002 original. Lazy doesn’t even cut it.

And, yes, maybe you bought it, but given Blizzard wound up in a position of offering full refunds for players in February 2020 (just one month after release), that money probably didn’t leave your account for long.
