20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening

1. Ark 2

Studio Wildcard first announced Ark 2 with a stunning trailer during The Game Awards back in 2020. The project looked to be incredibly ambitious, giving a starring role to Vin Diesel and promising a more cinematic experience compared to the first game. The studio promised a story-driven campaign, with third person gameplay that built on the original's action survival mechanics as players navigate a world overrun by dinosaurs and tribesmen.

The game first had a tentative 2022 window attached, but that soon slipped to 23, then 24, then, nothing. No more updates or news left many fans wondering what the holdup was. Then in 2025, Studio Wildcard co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz confirmed in an Epic Games Store interview that the current intention was for a 2028 release.

Some of the new technology and mechanics planned for Ark 2 are being put to use in Ark: Survival Ascended, with future expansions introducing some of the sequel's new combat mechanics, which serve as proof that the project is finally gathering momentum. Hopefully, a proper meaningful showcase of the game isn't too far away.
