John is able to track and kill virtually any creature you can possibly find on the American frontier, even including one that doesn't really exist!

In fact, if you manage to put a bullet in this elusive critter's head, you get a special reward for it.

The most prestigious reward that you can get from hunting in Red Dead Redemption is the Expert Hunter Outfit that allows the player to receive twice as many items from skinning animals, including legendary ones. The clothing is quite hard to obtain, as one of the requirements for unlocking it is hunting down a jackalope.

This urban legend resembling a bunny rabbit with antlers is, as you'd expect out of a subject of folk tales, incredibly rare and equally difficult to spot.

They only appear in select areas, and due to their tiny bodies, you may not even realize you're walking past one.
