These super rare bugs have been around in the Animal Crossing franchise since City Folk.

The stags in this version are rare finds due to only appearing at night, but since then, every other iteration of the life sim has found more ways to make them even rarer.

In New Leaf, golden stags appear at night and only on the tropical island, which you can visit via Kap'n's boat. New Horizons makes the spawn rate even trickier by restricting the appearances of the stags to Nook Islands and making their already nighttime-only cameo slightly rarer.
