Dubbed the scariest game ever made by the Science of Scare Project, Madison follows 16-year-old Luca as he's forced into completing a demonic ritual by the spirit of a serial killer. Armed with a supernatural Polaroid camera, players solve elaborate puzzles while being tormented by malignant terrors.

Set within a constantly-shifting house where unexpected scares lurk around every corner, developer Bloodious Games have created a masterclass of unrelenting tension. As effective an antagonist as the titular killer is, there's one enemy that's even scarier: Blue Knees.

An eyeless demon summoned from the pages of a disturbing children's book, this lanky entity is encountered near the end of the game. Once he appears, he hunts players through a maze-like version of the house while they're tasked with finding his missing eyes, which are hidden in gramophones.

The suspense heightens every time players crank the record players. Not only does the quintessentially creepy song attract Blue Knees, but the process is excruciatingly slow. Players will also need to listen carefully for the tell-tale thunderclap that warns he's about to attack.

While every part of this game is utterly terrifying, no section compares to the suffocating dread that Blue Knees instils.
