Unlike the demonic entities that feature in other chapters, Dolores is an ordinary elderly woman. Despite her mundane appearance, glimpsing her standing at the end of a dark hallway or cackling at players from a doorway is an unnerving sight. With many of her appearances being randomised, players never know where she'll appear next, which only heightens the dread as they peek around the next corner.

As frightening a presence as Dolores is, she's also this game's most tragic character. The more players uncover about her history with mental illness as they make their way through this level, the more painfully human this spirit becomes.
