20 Problems Only Football Manager Fans Will Understand

10. The Morality Of The "Save And Restart" Debate

A lot of players - let's call these heathens "casual" players - will tell you that Football Manager is easy if you just save before every game and then load up your save if you don't win. Whilst they're not wrong, they're missing the point of playing entirely. Do they not understand the satisfaction of getting hammered every game for a month just to stumble upon an ingenious role for your Anchor Man that sends you on a winning spree? The sweet sickly tension in your stomach when you're chasing an equaliser with 10 minutes left of a cup semi-final? If you could save and restart in real-life then Bayern Munich would have erased Manchester United's historic Champion's League comeback because "that's stupid, we're set up really well to defend corners, must be a glitch".
