20 PS2 Games That Need A Modern Remake
2. The Simpsons: Hit & Run (2003)
The Simpsons has had a multitude of tie-in video games throughout the decades. These have ranged from all-time classics like The Simpsons Arcade Game to horrendous missteps such as The Simpsons Wrestling. However, none of these come close to the adoration for The Simpsons Hit & Run.
Released in 2003, this title was The Simpsons' version of Grand Theft Auto. It set players loose within a semi-open world version of Springfield as they investigated strange happenings within the town involving mysterious cameras and suspicious vans. Not only was this game full of recognisable cars and characters from the show, but each level was also stuffed with jokes and Easter Eggs.
Despite Gracie Films offering publishers Vivendi a deal to make three more games for no additional fee, a sequel never materialised. For years, fans have been advocating for a remake, with one 2018 petition even reaching the UK Parliament.
Although fan-made mods have attempted to modernise this cult gem, a fully open-world remake is exactly what this title needs. With more locations, vehicles, and missions, fans could get the follow-up they've been dreaming of while introducing this classic to a whole new generation of players.
