9. Actua Soccer 2

Remember what football games were like in the days before FIFA and Pro Evo became the two-headed duopolistic beast of the video games football scene? I barely do either, but in the early days of polygonal video games, Actua Soccer was widely regarded as the greatest footy series. While the first game in the trilogy introduced the world to 3D footy graphics, Actua Soccer 2 was brighter, more fluid, and better commentated than the original. The intro music, introduced with the commentator saying "Alan Shearer, Shearer, SHEARER!" is unforgettable just so, damn...90s! It's a fitting primer for the game's emotive in-game commentary from Barry Davies and Trevor Brooking. Actua Soccer 2 was the first 3D football game that didn't look dull and robotic, and other publishers soon followed suit. While the third and final Actua Soccer game improved on its predecessor in all the key areas, EA Sports had by that point learned how to do polygonal football properly, and soon pushed Actua Soccer into obscurity.
