20 Simple Game Exploits That Make You OP

7. Renting Murder Houses - Fable

Oblivion Remaster
Lionhead Studios

Fable is an open-world RPG that allows you to experience your character’s whole life, from childhood to their prime adventuring years. The game puts a great emphasis on its morality system, but another equally important aspect is money-making.

And here is when you can abuse Fable’s housing market to become the richest person in Albion.

One of Fable’s mechanics allows you to purchase a home and then rent it out to people for a passive income. Normally, the game only has a handful of houses on sale so that it’s impossible to earn too much money being a landlord, but there is one easy way to make additional houses rentable—by killing their previous owners.

If you lure a house’s residents outside of town and kill them without anyone noticing, their house will actually become vacant and you will be able to purchase it.

Doing this is obviously quite immoral, but if you don’t mind the extra evil points, becoming the sole owner of every house in the game will net you a ton of free gold without any of that adventuring nonsense.

Real estate really is a cutthroat business.
