19. Cemetery in the Bluebells (Death Stranding Director's Cut)

Death Stranding might just have the prettiest post-apocalyptic setting in gaming. There's a cold brutality to Hideo Kojima's sci-fi vision of the United States, and yet there is beauty to be found within it too. The luscious green fields, impressive mountain ranges, and the barren wasteland that is The Beach have plenty of amazement to offer, even in their simplicity. Yet, there's one location that really tugs at the heartstrings, that being the bluebell filled cemetery.

This small area, found in the Death Stranding Director's Cut, is as simple as it says on the tin. It's a small, grassy locale with a vast number of bluebells sprouting from the ground. Littered among these bluebells are gravestones, the final resting places of multiple Bridge Babies, unfortunate infants used as scientific tools. As part of Coffin's Ruined Facility mission, there is also some dense lore dropped about the character of Fragile.

While this area is naturally melancholic, there's a palpable sense of joy in it at the same time. This area stands as a testament to life, reminding you that the smallest of lives deserve remembrance.
