19 Things Video Game Fans Are SICK Of
1. Executives Milking Gaming Dry
The above photo shows Bobby Kotick, the former Activision CEO who was once the most hated man in video games. Unfortunately, this year has seen new contenders for his crown as those in charge of steering the good ship Video Games have piloted the vessel with all the forethought and consideration of a huckster looking to cash in on an insurance claim.
Take EA CEO Andrew Wilson. It's hard to enjoy the otherwise excellent Battlefield 6 when you know the talented people who made it have been cast into the wind, but it's even harder when you know the game's excellent sales contributed to a $38 million bonus for the man who pushed its developers out the door.
Such scumbag behaviour is nothing new in the industry - former Bungie CEO Pete Parsons came under fire for spending millions on luxury cars whilst laying off over a hundred employees - but the sheer scale of the disparity between those who make games and those who profit off them has become impossible to ignore. What's the point in buying games when the wrong people are rewarded for it?
Oh, and Bobby Kotick is making a comeback too. Super. Roll on 2027!
