20 Upcoming Games That COULD Be Better Than GTA VI
5. Diablo V
There are few video game franchises more enduring or beloved than Diablo, and though Diablo IV was only released in 2023, Blizzard rather unexpectedly confirmed at their recent Blizzcon that Diablo V was already deep in development.
The game will be set 100 years after Diablo IV, with the world having descended into an outright apocalypse as the Lord of Terror himself, Diablo, rules over it.
Despite its issues, Diablo IV is one of the most acclaimed RPGs of the 2020s, and while absence certainly makes the heart grow fonder, fans will nevertheless be overjoyed to learn that they won't have to endure another 11-year gap between games, as Diablo V is expected to land in mid-2029.
While the shorter development cycle - for modern standards, at least - perhaps suggests that Diablo V will be a relatively iterative sequel, considering how much love there is for the previous game, that's probably no bad thing.
Diablo V is targeting a mid-2029 release date.
