20 Video Games That Are About To Make A HUGE Comeback
19. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly
Throughout Fatal Frame, you must use a mystical camera to capture vengeful spirits in haunted locations while uncovering tragic mysteries.
Although the original was great, the follow-up, Crimson Butterfly, is considered among the greatest survival horrors, due to its gripping narrative, unsettling tone, and emotional conflict between the twin protagonists.
Despite receiving a drastic revision for the Wii, another Crimson Butterfly remake is on the way. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water and Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse were recently remastered, so fans may have assumed Crimson Butterfly would get the same treatment. But as can be seen in the trailers, the beloved sequel has been given a major overhaul, with visuals, audio, and core gameplay being drastically updated.
The Camera Obscura has new features, including focus and zoom filters, which are integral for pinpointing specific spectres. The remake also uses a new mechanic where the lead sisters can hold hands to perform certain tasks and deepen their bond with one another.
The last rendition of Crimson Butterfly was impressive, but this version is sure to blow it out of the water.
